Tell someone you trust

We understand that telling an adult, especially your parent, that you are pregnant is a very difficult and scary thing for you to do. It is important that you do, however, tell an adult who is also a parent as their experience will be very helpful to you. Also, becoming a parent is a very emotionally and physically challenging experience and it is important that you do not go through this alone. It is best to let your parents know, as you will rely on them for all sorts of support, such as financial help to buy things for the baby, emotional help to get you through this difficult time, transport to and from your doctor’s appointments and the hospital for the delivery of the baby, advice on anything to do with child care and so on. Their support will become even more important when the baby is born.
